CHAIRMAN'S ADVANCED PIANO SCHOLARSHIP - EST'D 1994
1 X $350.00 and ONTARIO REGISTERED MUSIC TEACHER'S ASSOCIATION (Durham & District) AWARD

This scholarship, offered annually by the Kiwanis Club of Oshawa-Durham/A.M., Oshawa and  the ORMTA award are awarded by the adjudicator(s) to the winner of the advanced level piano run-off competition.  Adjudicators recommend the participants and are responsible for the awarding of the scholarship and trophy. The test piece shall be one selection of the competitors own choice of adjudicated material from this level in the current Festival.

CY & RITA POWELL/CHAIRMAN'S SENIOR PIANO SCHOLARSHIP - EST'D 1971
1 X $300.00 and BERT COULTER AWARD

This scholarship is awarded by the adjudicator(s) to the winner of the senior level piano run-off competition. The test piece used in this competition shall be one selection of the competitors own choice taken from previously adjudicated material performed in the current years festival. In addition to the Scholarship, the winner is awarded the Bert Coulter Award. Mr. Coulter was a high ranking Kiwanian and a longtime member of the Oshawa Kiwanis Club.

CHAIRMAN'S INTERMEDIATE PIANO SCHOLARSHIP & AWARD - EST'D 1971
1 X $250.00

This scholarship, offered annually by the Kiwanis Club of Oshawa-Durham/A.M. in the amount of $250.00, is awarded as a result of run-off competition from the intermediate level of piano classes. Adjudicators recommend the participants and are responsible for the awarding of the scholarship and award. The test piece shall be one selection of competitors own choice of adjudicated material, from this level in the current Festival. In addition to the scholarship the winner is awarded the Chairman's Intermediate Piano Award.

CHAIRMAN'S JUNIOR PIANO SCHOLARSHIP
1 X $100.00 and MONSIGNOR PAUL DWYER AWARD

This scholarship and award is offered annually by the Kiwanis Club of Oshawa-Durham/A.M. is awarded as the result of run-off competitions from the current festivals junior piano classes. Monsignor Paul Dwyer was a past Kiwanian. Adjudicators at their sole discretion recommend participants to this level of competition and are solely responsible for awarding this scholarship and award. Participants are required to perform a piece of previously adjudicated material from the present festival at the playoff concert.

ERIC BROWN AWARD - EST'D 2004 - Junior Piano
1 x $150.00

This award is made available by Mr. Mark Powell in memory of his friend, Eric Brown, who studied Royal Conservatory Piano in Oshawa 50 years ago and competed at the Kiwanis Music Festival.  This scholarship will be awarded upon the recommendation of the adjudicator(s).

JOHN HOWSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

1 X $100.00 (Senior or Advanced Piano)

This scholarship was made available by the Westmount Kiwanis Club and is in memory of John Howson, a long time member of the club and a past president of the music festival board.

ESPRESSIVO SINGERS PIANO SCHOLARSHIP - IN MEMORY OF MARIANNE TURNER

2 x $50.00

This scholarship, for the piano category, is donated by a local singing group.  Marianne Turner was a respected piano teacher and accompanist.  She was an important part of the music festival.

JIM HOWARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

2 X $100.00 & 2 x $50.00 (Senior & Advanced Piano)

This scholarship was made available by Mrs. Esther Howard in memory of her husband.  Jim and Esther Howard were great supporters of the festival for many years.  Jim was a past member of the music festival board.

This award will be available for the highest mark achieved in the senior level for any Chopin composition.  It is awarded by Margrit Voisin in memory of her maternal grandmother.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD MUSIC STUDIO PETER BEAR AWARD

1 x $100.00

This award will be available for the highest mark achieved in the junior piano level - List B.  It is awarded by Margrit Voisin in memory of her best friend.
