A scholarship will be awarded as a result of a playoff competition from Instrumental classes other than voice and piano. The adjudicator(s) recommend contestants from the senior instrumental classes to perform a previously adjudicated selection from the current festival. The winner is selected by the adjudicator(s), as the recipient of the Senior Instrumental Scholarship and Founders Trophy. Hayward Murdoch was past President of the Oshawa Kiwanis Club and a Chairman of the Music Festival

A scholarship will be awarded as a result of the playoff competition from instrumental classes. The adjudicator(s) recommend contestants from the intermediate instrumental classes to perform a previously adjudicated selection from the current festival. The adjudicator(s) are responsible for the selection of participants and are solely responsible for the awarding of the Scholarship and Trophy.

A $250.00 scholarship is awarded to the winner of the Junior Instrumental Play-off Competition. The adjudicator(s) are responsible for the selection of participants and are solely responsible for the awarding of the Scholarship and Trophy.
