The Kiwanis Club of Oshawa was formed in 1928 and recently celebrated 80 years of service to the community. The Kiwanis Club of Durham AM was founded in 1967. In 2004 a decision was made for the two clubs to amalgamate. The combined Oshawa/Durham-AM Kiwanis Club continues to carry on each of their fund raising activities to support the Kiwanis Music Festival. The Club also supports their AAA Hockey Team, two Builders Clubs, Citizenship Awards and commencement awards in the schools, the Hat, Boot & Mitt program for children identified as needing them, and other activities.
